Department of Agroecology carries out research into the interaction between climate, soil, plants, animals and humans in agricultural systems to the advancement of health, sustainability and environmentally friendly production of foods, feed and energy crops.
AU Foulumgård Research Station carry out field experiments with annual and perennial crops for feed, fodder, energy and biorefinery. Many of these crops are harvested as ‘green crops’, and in some cases more than 1 cut is done per year.
The crops are grass, legumes, mixtures of grass and legumes, herbs, grain crops, etc.
The plot harvester must be capable of harvesting plots that are 1 500 mm wide, and 12-18 meter long. Crops are from 10 cm to 200 cm in height.
A representative sample must be collected from each plot. The sample must be chopped before it is delivered in a sample bag.
