Plant Director
BSB Industry Poland (Toruń)
In this role, you will have overall P&L responsibility for BSB Industry's site located in Toruń, Poland. The factory consists of approximately 250 employees, spread across two locations that manufacture and process materials in steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
The company is headquartered in Lunderskov, Denmark, and employs a total of 300 employees across production units in Denmark and Poland. The strategy is clear. The goal is to become one of the most preferred global supplier of components, structures, and special solutions for the renewable energy sector and overall industry.
The overall task
Increased collaboration and transparency
As Plant Director for BSB Industry Poland, your responsibility will be to ensure a profitable and sustainable operation of the factory.
You will report to the Danish CEO and become a part of a global management team. You will have nine managers reporting directly to you.
Your task will be to manage and develop production in Poland while simultaneously implementing a new structure aimed at supporting the company's future growth. This structure includes aligning processes on a global scale and implementing a matrix organization that will promote collaboration and oversight across borders and sites.
Responsibility and tasks
Leadership and Production Management
- Leadership, communication, and delegation in relation to operations and development.
- Ongoing management and visible leadership in the factory.
- Collaborate with Production Managers to develop the factories in terms of flow, layout, machinery, etc.
Supply Chain Management
- Ensure timely oversight and communication regarding input/output.
- Identify bottlenecks in the company and initiate necessary development activities.
- Enhance useful KPIs and management tools.
- Drive development projects in collaboration with internal and external specialists.
Quality
- Process review and implementation of process controls.
- Responsible for QA, QC, HSE and Sustainability, including development in collaboration with the Head of QHSE.
Financial Management
- Ensure monthly reporting.
- Preparation and adjustments of budgets.
- Prepare business cases for investments.
- Facility Management.
Experienced manager with cultural understanding
To be considered for the position, you are an experienced production manager with a strong background in operating and developing production.
You have completed a technical or commercial education at the intermediate or advanced level, and ideally, you have previously held P&L responsibility for a similar production unit.
Experience within the industry is essential
You have knowledge of metal processing and are motivated by actively contributing to the development of production in terms layout, workflow, automation, and other optimizations and investments that can add value.
You are persistent, goal-oriented, and business-focused
Personally, you are motivated by both operational and strategic objectives, and you work persistently and purposefully to achieve future strategies. You accomplish this by utilizing your team to the fullest while also being capable of recruiting and developing in-house skills for the future.
In terms of language skills, you are proficient in both written and spoken English and Polish. It is also advantageous if you speak Danish, but the most critical factor is that you possess a solid cultural understanding, preferably gained from previous experience working in a cross-cultural organization.
