Electromagnets and permanent electromagnets from norelem
norelem is expanding its range with powerful electromagnets and permanent electromagnets for the secure fixation of ferromagnetic workpieces. The products are designed for applications where high holding force, precise controllability, and operational reliability are required – from automation to safety technology.
Electromagnets and permanent electromagnets serve the same purpose but differ in their energy requirements and adhesion behavior.
Electromagnets generate their magnetic field through continuous direct current, allowing the holding force and switching state to be quickly regulated via the current. They provide very strong holding force but release immediately when the power supply is interrupted.
Permanent electromagnets adhere without continuous power and only require energy to neutralize or increase the magnetic field. They also hold securely in the event of a power failure, making them particularly suitable for continuous holding applications.
Strong and controllable – energy-efficient and safe
Within the new product range “electromagnets,” norelem offers four product families, each available in round and rectangular designs:
Round electromagnets,diameters from 10–250 mm, 24 V (12 V on request), and a holding force of 3–30,000 N
Rectangular electromagnets, 100–800 mm in length, with 24 V and a holding force of 850–10,600 N
Round permanent electromagnets, 10–150 mm diameter, with 24 V (12 V on request), and a holding force of 3–5,000 N
Rectangular permanent electromagnets, 100–500 mm in length, with 24 V and a holding force of 950–7,500 N
Mounting is carried out via a threaded connection on the rear side. The electrical connection is via loose cables for round versions, and via connectors in accordance with EN 175301-803 (formerly DIN 43650) for rectangular versions.
Typical applications include magnetic locks in safety technology, material handling in mechanical engineering, and gripping solutions in automation.
