New stainless steel spring hinges
norelem is extending its product range with new spring hinges made of stainless steel, offering a robust solution for moving flaps, doors or covers independently into a specified position and for setting them back. Aside from making operation more effortless, the integrated spring mechanism offers increased safety.
A heavy-duty torsion spring remains concealed and protected in the housing, unlike other designs with external springs. It is pre-tensioned during assembly and transmits its force directly to the hinge pin.
Depending on their design, the spring hinges have a self-closing or a spring-opening effect: Spring-opening variants make it easier to lift heavy flaps, while self-closing variants automatically pull doors and protective hoods back to the safe starting position.
Designed for heavy loads
The new stainless steel spring hinges supplement the existing program with three more families that boast an opening angle of up to 270 degrees. The hinges are available with torque levels of 0.35 Nm, 0.7 Nm, and 1.3 Nm. All products are available as both spring-opening and spring-closing variants. The hinges are mounted directly on the housing or door via mounting holes.
Load values of up to 14,669 N are possible. The hinges are made of A2 stainless steel, while the spring is formed from particularly corrosion-resistant Bezinal steel. A washer made of thermoplastic (POM) provides for low-friction operation.
Safe, clean, space-saving
Typical areas of application are heavy protective covers and maintenance flaps as well as doors and housings used in machine and plant engineering, in automation, in housing and switch box construction, and in medical and laboratory technology. The compact spring hinges with invisibly integrated spring offer distinct advantages in bottling plants, laboratory equipment or hygienically sensitive areas. Aside from offering reliable protection against contamination and wear, they increase safety and can also be used in particularly tight construction spaces.
