With the help of Erhvervshus Hovedstaden Clip-Lok SimPak updating software in order to enhance productivity and piloting sustainable approach in packaging industry.
[Allerød, 12 October 2023] — The Mayor of Allerød, Carsten Längerich together with representatives from the Municipality and Erhvershus Hovedstanden visited Clip-Lok SimPak in Allerød yesterday. Erhvervshus Hovedstaden has provided valuable support to Clip-Lok SimPak and enabled Clip-Lok SimPak to receive Government and EU grants to develop important digital tools to strengthen Clip-Lok's position, especially on the export markets. More than 80% of Clip-Lok's turnover comes from exports.
Today it is important for any company to be aware of and to limit the environmental impact of their activities. On the basis of an EU financed voucher from the Enterprise Program SME: Green, Clip-Lok SimPak is spearheading an eco-friendly approach by developing a CO2e calculator. This innovative tool enables businesses to calculate the environmental impact of individual customized packaging solutions.
Anders Lassen , CEO and Founder of Clip-Lok SimPak , expressed the vision behind the software update:
"Our ambition is to minimize the environmental impact through our own production and our customers' use of our products. We want to be able to calculate and document the CO2e load for each individual, unique, tailor-made packaging solution for our customers."
As part of the digitization process and with the support of Erhvervshus Hovedstaden, MADE kickstart project and Alexandra Institute , Clip-Lok SimPak is spearheading an eco-friendly approach by developing a CO2e calculator. This innovative tool enables businesses to calculate the environmental impact of individual customized packaging solutions.
Anders Lassen elaborates on the project:
"The project involves collecting relevant data on our raw materials, putting this information together in a weighted order, and developing a parametric calculation model."
This initiative not only aligns with Clip-Lok SimPak's commitment to sustainability but also positions the company at the forefront of environmentally conscious business practices.
In collaboration with the SME Green Initiative and the Consultancy Firm Viegand Maagøe, the implemented calculator empowers Clip-Lok SimPak to calculate the CO2e load of all existing and future products. This strategic move reinforces the company's dedication to environmental responsibility, enabling businesses to make informed decisions regarding their packaging solutions.
Clip-Lok SimPak is updating its software tool, ParBox, an important component utilized throughout the entire business process, from sales to production, and the large CNC machinery can be set-up without any manual data input.
Anders Lassen, CEO of Clip-Lok SimPak, expressed the vision behind the software update:
"Our ambition is to allow our sales force to design on the spot with the customer their unique tailor made packaging solution and to export the product specific machining instructions directly to our large CNC equipment with limited human interference"
Clip-Lok SimPak will continue to set new benchmarks in the packaging industry, combining technological innovation with a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship.
